John 1:1-5 (NKJV)

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 He was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.

4 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

The word ‘In the beginning’ is very similarly used in Genesis. It shows the everlasting and enduring Truth about God. It’s pretty straight forward as it states that ‘the Word was with God, and the Word was God.’ It shows the oneness of the Word with God.

Everything were made through God, nothing in this world is NOT created by Him, else it would cease to exist. The light that was in Him, was the light of men. Not really sure why the use of past tense, maybe to just indicate this was said way back? Or at least shouldn’t it be present tense because the light is still in Him?

The good news is that the light we inherited from God is in everyone of us. And this light shines in darkness, even in the darkest times. If we allow our light to continue to shine for Jesus, no dark times will be too dark. No problems will be big. Because our faith is in Jesus, when we focus on Jesus, nothing is too big to handle. Our Lord Jesus Christ has authority over every circumstance!

Now let us praise Him for everything he has done for us.

P.S I’m challenging myself to do #apassageaday for a month! Hopefully it helps me grow spiritually! I chose the gospel of John because it’s where the whole Christianity put their faith in. About how the Lord Jesus Christ came to pass on and put on the cross for our sins…

Week 5

It’s already the end of week 5.
I can’t believe I’ve managed to finish 5 week of school. Are things going well? I can’t really tell.

But, results for my first IS200 just got released. And I have to say I’m quite disappointed by it. I guess complacency got a better of me. Well, it’s jolly good time I buck up in all my mods not just IS200.

Some thoughts so far:

1. Class participation isn’t as easy as I thought it would be especially BGS. Readings must be done way before lessons to be on the same page as the class/lesson.

2. Juggling with CCA isn’t easy at all. Of course I will still try to go for aqualathon. And even if I don’t I need to make the conscious effort to do my own training. No compromise.

3. Time outside lesson is more very valuable. In-class times is like a set aside time to consult the gurus (profs).

4. Distraction from all directions are desperately trying to get my attention, from games to social media to things that are not important.\

1. Thank God that He has placed wonderful friends around me in school.

2. Thank God that He has been patient with me throughout this time.

3. Thank God that He has made someone to encourage me whenever I am feeling low.

4. Thank God that He has made certain arrangements to allow me to have met certain people.

5. Thank God that He is ALWAYS timely.
